For more than 25 years, I've had the privilege of working alongside farming families across Australia, helping them navigate succession, family business, taxation and intergenerational wealth transfer.

Over that time, I've learnt that successful family farm transition is about far more than legal documents and tax planning.

It's about leadership.  It's about communication.  It's about preparing the next generation.  It's about making good decisions while you still have choices.

I've also seen too many families leave these conversations until it was too late. Opportunities were lost, relationships became strained and, in some cases, families paid hundreds of thousands of dollars in unnecessary tax simply because planning started too late.

That's why we created Future Farming Families and developed the Australian Family Farm Transition Benchmark™.

The Benchmark has been designed to help farming families understand where they stand today, identify opportunities for improvement and take practical steps towards becoming Succession Ready™.

Every family that completes the Benchmark also contributes anonymously to Australia's growing understanding of family farm transition, helping build valuable insights that will benefit farming families for years to come.
